    Some unanswered questions:
    What age do you reckon 'the boy' is?
    Was 'the man' his father? Are you sure? It never says he was. Was 'the woman' his mother?
    Was it set in the USA? on earth?

    p.s. if you havn't read it yet none of these questions give away anything. Read it!

  3. Haven't read that, but read "Blood Meridian" by the same author and it was one of the bleakest things I've ever read. Beautifully written, but bloody hard work to read!
    Went to see the film "No Country for Old Men" and when the words "based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy" came up on the screen at the end, I thought "Well that explains it".
    He's not a cheerfull guy!

  4. I think The Road is an amazing book. Granted, its is grim but it sure makes you think.
    I believe it has been made into a film and will be released this year.

  5. I thought it was based on earth, in the USA. My brother in law, who had read it before thought it was outer space. It will be interesting to see what the film adaptation will be.
