Am reading and enjoying Catch 22 by Heller. Anyone else have any thoughts on same? My progress is slow as initially I had to keep rereading sections to try and remember who was who. Now that that has finally been established I have picked up the pace and am thoroughly enjoying the wicked sense of humour.

It's such a long time since I read that book (about 10 years!) I remember it took me about a month to get through but it has so many laugh out loud moments. Thoroughly enjoyable. I think there might be a movie of it as well.

Found the start of this book hard going, but once I had a clearer picture of who was who following the narrative became much easier.
The play on words is just phenomenal in this book. I don't think I ever read a book before that was so cleverly created.
The ridiculous nature of many bureaucratic procedures is depicted so effectively in this book. There were parts I laughed aloud at, as Yossarian tried to make decisions, as I can absolutely wreck my own head trying to be decisive, so on that note I could relate to him.
While I found this book very funny it also delves into it many societal issues, and the laissez-faire attitude shown to same, how for many people it is just easier to look the other way.
I don't think I will read the sequel 'Closing Time' as this book was so thoroughly genius I wouldn't want to taint my memory by perhaps being disappointed by where Yossarian goes from here.
